We present you this years’ Content Award by ZIT Vienna in magnified liquid handmade animation.We all enjoyed working on this challenging project where we showcase 6 categories of submission in 18 seconds. Once again we melted several techniques to a literally fluent animation. All based on Philipp Comarella’s amazing key visual.

Monetary prizes are granted in the various categories such as games, applications, animated short films or the open category – the audience prize.ZIT – The Technology Agency of the City of Vienna, offers various types of support to innovative companies from Vienna. With its Content Award Vienna, ZIT supports the innovative content production scene in Vienna and opens up perspectives for the commercial exploitation of these formats.

We created Mayrhofen`s Rise & Fall 2012 spot. Focussed on high voltage action, an unparalleled adrenalin kick and fantastic entertainment.

Rise & Fall thrilling event, with a touch of aggression, perfection, extremism as well as a healthy dose of emotion and lifestyle. An unprecedented sporting event in which teams compete in a race against the clock. NO MERCY – these athletes are going to need plenty of staying power. The teams, consisting of four members, have four sporting disciplines to overcome. Rise: Ski touring and mountain bike & Fall: Paraglide and ski or board.

TEDx Vienna

In 2009 TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TEDx Vienna asked us to create titles for TEDx Vienna 2012 which took place on nov 3rd 2012.

Derived from the words ‘instant’ and ‘insanity’, it symbolizes the spirit of our technologically minted times: everything now.

With Dmesh Pro we where able to quickly triangulate photographs. The resulting 3D objects where used for animation.

MUCH BETTER NOW

In “Much Better Now”, the main character is a bookmark, stuck in a forgotten book, caught in a life marked by standstill in a deserted room. One day wind knocks over the book and blows the bookmark onto the table, separating them. Unfolding hands and feet, the bookmark is swept back into the pages that turn into ocean waves and the two are reunited for a journey. With a surfboard it experiences its environment in a new way – wipe-outs, washouts and nosedives connect the hero to the ocean. The bookmark enjoys the ride of its life.

PRODUCTION INSIGHTS

“At the time we decided to create an animated surf-clip we were not aware of the potential of this project. Over one year we developed a simple idea into a 5 minutes mixed-media short-film. We pushed our limits in pre-production, storytelling, stop-motion, live-action, character design, 3D animation and many other fields by combining our knowledge from commercial motion-design and visual art for a story worth to be told. Zero budget did not limit rather than feed our creativity trough improvisation. We surfed through this production and tried to become one with what we do. To work on this stop-motion project had the same creative impulse on us, as the wind has on our little character…”

TEAM LIQUID STARLEAGUE

We created TeamLiquid’s Starleague 4 Event Ident and broadcast animations, one the most prestigious Western Starcraft 2 Events of all times. The Artwork interprets Blizzard’s Starcraft 2 World in a new cheerful way.

The TeamLiquid StarLeague 4, announced on April 25th 2012, was the second TSL event held for StarCraft II. It featured three returning seeds, the three players who achieved podium in the previous edition: ThorZaIN, NaNiwa, and Kas. The twenty-nine remaining spots were awarded through qualifiers. The event had live finals and after party in New York City, as well as full news and coverage on TeamLiquid.net.
